About Sweet Mini J’s Farm

Welcome to Sweet Mini J’s Farm, located in beautiful Southeast Ohio in the heart of the Hocking Hills. What began as a love for miniature donkeys has grown into a passion that has spanned more than a decade. We have built everything from the ground up. Everything pictured below was once just a hay field.

About our Farm

The Birthplace of the Cutest Miniature Donkeys

For the past 10 years, we have been dedicated to breeding quality miniature donkeys with exceptional dispositions, sound conformation, and loving personalities.

During that time, we have proudly welcomed 56 foals to our farm and have had the privilege of placing our donkeys with wonderful families across multiple states and even as far away as Canada.

Sweet Mini J's Farm is truly a family operation. We have been married since 2014, and in 2021 we welcomed our son, who is growing up alongside the animals and helping make memories on the farm every day.

While miniature donkeys are at the heart of what we do, they are not the only animals that call our farm home. Our farm family also includes dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and goats, creating a fun and lively environment that we enjoy sharing with visitors.

Our goal is to raise happy, healthy, well-socialized miniature donkeys while helping educate others about these incredible animals. Whether you're looking to add donkeys to your family, schedule a farm visit, or simply follow along on our journey, we're grateful you're here and look forward to sharing our love of miniature donkeys with you.

ADMS Registered Miniature Donkey Breeder

The American Donkey & Mule Society (ADMS) is the nation’s oldest and most recognized registry dedicated to donkeys, mules, and zebra hybrids. Founded in 1967, ADMS maintains official pedigree records, promotes responsible breeding practices, and works to preserve the health, history, and integrity of these remarkable animals. The organization administers the Miniature Donkey Registry (MDR), which was established in 1958 and is considered the premier registry for Miniature Mediterranean Donkeys in North America. Through registration, owners can verify lineage, document ancestry, and help preserve valuable bloodlines for future generations. ADMS also provides educational resources, supports shows and events, publishes breed information, and advocates for the responsible care and welfare of donkeys and mules.

Willow Mae

Willow Mae is a light gray jenny, she is an ivory gene carrier. she was born july 27 2017 on our farm.

Scarlett

Scarlett has been one of those donkeys that has shown exceptional conformation from birth. We quickly knew that she was going to call our farm home. She is an in your pocket donkey and is exceptionally smart! We are hoping to have our first foal from her in 2027!

Sarah Beth

SARAH CAME TO US FROM A FARM IN PENNSYLVANIA. SHE IS A RIBBON WINNER AND KNOWS HOW TO PULL A CART :) SHE WILL BE REGISTERED IN THE OPEN DONKEY REGISTRY AS WELL AS THE SPOTTED REGISTRY.

Pixie

Pixie is a uniquely colored donkey with just a few spots. She is an ivory carrier and best friends with Pepper. She has bossy attitude that demands attention. She has been exposed to Kerns Picasso in hopes for her to have her first foal in 2027.

Peppermint (Pepper)

Pepper was sired in New York but was born on our farm. Her unique no light point coloration, diverse genetics, and sweet personality made the decision to add her to our breeding program an easy one. She is Pixie’s partner in crime and demands attention. She has been exposed with Kerns Picasso for her first foal in 2027.

Fancy

Fancy is one of those wonderful surprise donkeys you get. Her mom Frontier Legends Sadie has never given us a red coloration before and when Fancy was born, we instantly knew she would be staying home with us. We have been trying to grow our “red” herd for a while and also wanted to retain Frontier Legends blood line in our breeding program. Fancy is developing nicely as a yearling, and we have future high hopes for her and DTA’s Red Hot Peanut pairing!

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a wow donkey! From birth we could tell that her conformation is exceptional. She is an ivory carrier and uniquely colored with red highlights in her face. She continues to develop nicely and stands out in the yearling pasture. We are excited to see how she continues to develop and for a future pairing with DTA’s Red Hot Peanut!

Sweet Mini J's Camellia

Camellia was our first foal of 2018! She was born at 2:30AM, on Thursday April 19th. She is a dark brown jenny with a white nose! We decided to keep Cami at our farm since she has such wonderful bloodlines! Update on Cami, she has had a few fantastic foals for us and is a sweetheart that steals the attention like her momma!

Cali

Cali got her name due to her being so uniquely colored at birth. She was red on her face and ears, and grey on her back and legs. I knew she would retain some of her red due to her having iconic red eyelashes. We lost Cali’s grand dam, so when we had a chance to add her bloodline to our herd we took it and decided to retain her on our farm. She is developing nicely with great conformation and stands out in the yearling pasture. We are excited for a future pairing with her and DTA’s Red Hot Peanut!

Sweet Mini J's Azalea

AZALEA IS A DARK BROWN JENNY BORN MAY 22, 2017. SHE IS AN IVORY CARRIER. SHE WAS ALSO THE FIRST FOAL BORN AT OUR FARM! Azalea has produced one nice jennet foal for us and is currently being bred at our friend’s exposed to their jack for a hopeful 2027 foal!

Sweet Ass Blushing Bunny

Bunny is a really nice jennet that was born on November 21, 2008. She is registered as light red or red gray-dun.

Ravenwood Polly

Polly is a beautiful Lt. Red/Gray Jenny. She has exceptional conformation and a stocky build she has had several wonderful foals for us!

Ravenwood Olivia

Olivia is a light brown jennet that was born on June 1, 2010. She is 31 1/2"

Morning Star River Dance

River is a red jenny, she was born on june 26 2017

Morning Stars Junebug

Bugsy was born on June 16, 2016. She is a grey/ white spotted jennet
